Jaydee Models is proud to present The Bride. A 1/6 scale resin statue. Taking my inspiration from the classic and iconic films the bride of Frankenstein and Metropolis and my love of hammer horror films, I wanted to design a bride that has the perfect combination of horror and beauty. Working on the basic body shape was straight forward and of more interest was what kind of pose should she have.

I decided early on to give her stiff body movements, after all this is the first time she has walked in her newly constructed body. Adding to this I thought it wasnt enough to only have stitched body parts so I added pistons to her arm and a knee support to her leg giving her a truly warped steam punk look. For her head I first created what I consider to be a beautiful face then I added the stitched sections portraying the barons handy work and lack of skills in the neat stitching department. Finishing off her appearance is a realistic skin colour complete with moles, freckles and veins lightly showing under her skin.

The entire effect is achieved with subtle shades overlaid and blended together. For the base I wanted to create an Art Deco stylised look complete with some lab equipment each side of the bride.

On the base is an ornate capital F for Frankenstein, finishing everything off perfectly. Limited to 50 signed and numbered on the base.
