The Roman goddess Juno 1/4 scale statue. To the Romans Juno was the protector of families, she was married to the god Jupiter and together they ruled over Mount Olympus. For this sculpture I wanted the goddess Juno to have a classical look, something that wouldn't have looked out of place back in the days when Rome was shaping the world. Possibly something on display in Caligula's time?
There's a thought for a future sculpture... I designed the pose to have gentle movement in the waist, shoulders and head, as if something in Rome has caught her attention as she looks down from Mount Olympus. Her body has soft curves, some slight muscle definition around her shoulders and back, there are folds in the waist and neck where the skin would naturally crease with this pose. Her face has an expression of serenity and kindness, finished off perfectly with her beautiful hairstyle which features hand sculpted hair strands around the sides and back. The statue is completed with a stone finished display base with fine ornate details around each side. The statue is limited to 100 signed and numbered on the base.
